Phillipians 4:19
My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Have you ever had days when the weight of a problem seemed so heavy that you buckled under the load of it? Several months ago I quit my job which I know seemed insane to some, others cheered, and still others understood. I prayed really hard before the decision to quit was made. I truly believe that was one of the best decision I could have made. Sometimes we lose sight of what is truly important and what true riches are. Can we take one thing with us to heaven? Can I take a new wardrobe? Furniture? Diamonds? Pearls? Shoes? Land? Equipment? Flowers? The list is endless of material things that we all love. There is nothing wrong with desiring to have things, but when that desire turns in to what we are motivated by, therein lies the problem. God's word tells us that He will take care of us. That the birds of the air and the flowers He feeds, are we not of more worth to Him than these? What is really a need and what is a want. I need food but I don't have to have steak every night. I need clothing but does it really have to be name brand? On a lighter note, I have found that some things your really do need name brand on like bounce dryer sheets...hard to beat them...and Kraft miracle whip..lol. God created this earth, He owns it all, He just lets us borrow or manage it for Him. I'm learning one of my treasures are my family, my husband and little girl. I'm learning that playing dominoes with my parents, my brothers, husband and in laws can be fun and educational(I'm getting quicker at counting the dots). I'm learning one of the pleasures in life isn't sitting in a house watching TV, it is found digging rocks out of a garden while my 3 year old is scribbling her ABC's in the dirt with a stick.
Take a look at your life, where are your needs? Riches? Wants? Where is your treasure? Is your heart where it needs to be?
