Psalm 121:1-8 KJV
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help, My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon they right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth even for evermore.
At one time in my younger years, I could quote all of this psalm. It was one of my favorites. Our youngest son knew I loved this scripture so he brought home a plaque with Psalm 121 on it. He was about 12 or 13 years old when he gave it to me. It still remains one of my favorites and though I can no longer remember all of it, it is comforting to my soul. The plaque burnt up when our house burned back in 1978, but I'm so glad I still have it to read and meditate on in God's word. Our help does come from God. I really think it reminds me of how awesome God is. God never slumbers or sleeps and He knows our every need before we do. God keeps us and nothing can touch our lives but first has to come through Him. God is God in the daytime as well as the night. The Bible says God is as a mother hen who hovers over her little chicks and would give her life to protect them. I've seen a mother hen gather her chicks under her wings. If you have ever been pecked by a mother hen you know how fearlessly they protect their young. God's love and protection is far greater than a mother hen, and I never want to feel God's wrath.
Let's take a moment to reflect on God's protection and thank Him. There is no greater love than that of our Heavenly Father. Just lift up your eyes unto the hill's from whence cometh your help.
