I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

Has the Lord ever put into your heart to do something but somehow you had just never gotten around to it or did you just forget about it? I believe God puts in our hearts things He would have us do each day. We can do them or we can refuse to do them. We all have a work to do if we are His children. Sometimes it might be to send a card or note, or to call someone. It might be to visit or fix a meal for someone who is sick. It might be to help someone who isn't able to do for themselves and our list could go on and on. If you don't know what to do or say, pray, ask God to show you. There is so much need in the world all you have to do is look around. I've been in that place several times where I just needed to know I was thought of and that someone was praying for me, my husband, and family. I have been blessed to receive cards and phone calls and food when I wasn't able to do any cooking. I have been blessed for the many prayers lifted on my behalf to our Heavenly Father. Little things mean a lot when you don't feel your best. I'm guilty of starting letters that never get finished nor mailed. There are phone calls I intend to make and other things I had planned to do but didn't do them. I don't always spend time with my Lord like I should, but I am trying with His help to do better. My heart's desire is to please my Lord and Saviour daily and to do whatever He has for me to do. Think about something you could do in love and kindness for someone today. A work that would honor the Lord and lift another up to help them have a better day.

I was looking around my home today and my eyes went straight to a project I had started several years ago. I made a new commitment to do my best to finish that and a few other things I have begun and haven't finished. But most of all I want to finish all that God has for me to do. No more half hearted tasks but with all I've got. God will never give us anything to do that we can't handle with His help. Jesus did what He came to do and He finished His work, I have a home in Heaven, a Saviour to whom I can always run to and be safe because Jesus finished His work. Do whatever Jesus puts into your hearts to do when He says to do them. Someday you may need that special help or prayer. Don't put off tomorrow what you can do today.
