Being Afraid

Psalm 56:3 KJV
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

Psalm 56:4
In God I will praise His word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Psalm 62:8
Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Have you ever noticed how a little child isn't afraid, if they trust the one who tells them to do something. you could tell them to jump off a high ladder and they would if they trusted you to catch them. Why then am I afraid of so many things? I am honest, because I do not like storms and sometimes I'm afraid of them. I have to remind myself that when God speaks the wind obeys and the storm ceases. I'm so glad God sees past my human fears and knows my heart. Sometimes I grow fearful of what's going on in this old world and what's going to happen up ahead. I remember then who is really in control of all and my heart is peaceful again. I do ask God to forgive me for my fears and not trusting Him. why can't I be as trusting as little children are? They lay down and go to sleep and don't worry about tomorrow. The storms of life have no fear for them. It's sad to think they are trusting but I am fearful. I need to run to my hiding place, My Saviour, and there find safety from my fears. The Bible has many verses of scripture to help me to trust and not let fear control my life, Psalm 56:4 and Psalm 62.8. Our God is in control and we can trust Him. I need never be fearful because "greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the world."
