Psalm 111:9-10
He sent redemption unto his people; he hath commanded his covenant for ever; holy and reverent is his name.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all they that do his commandments; his praise endureth for ever.

Our pastor preached on respecting God last night. He mentioned things being reverent and holy to God, such as God's house and the things in it, including the people. How often I cross my legs and let my foot touch the back of the pew in front of me. I've not thought about it being disrespectful, but I don't put my shoes on my bed or couch at home. So why do I put my shoes on God's couch? And my thoughts, well that would be a sermon and a half. I don't know how certain things will go through my head when I'm at church. I want to be respectful and I want to praise my God and Saviour, and then bam...out of nowhere comes a wicked thought. Or pride, now there's another sermon. Boy I'm singing really good today...I wonder will they want me to sing a special.

Dear Jesus, teach me to be respectful and reverent of You. Teach me to teach my little one and others who are watching my life. Convict me of and when I show disrespect to You and things that are precious to You. Teach me to love my fellow brethren. Teach me to follow Your leading. I love you dear Jesus. Amen.
