I wanted love and peace
I got hurt and tears
I wanted understanding
I received mainly fear
I looked and looked to no avail
I sought it all in vain
I tried and tried to see the way
But I couldn’t see past the pain
Then one night out of nowhere
A peace that came within
A quiet spirit in the dark
I had finally met a Friend
He’s name is called Emmanuel
He came to seek and save us
He came to bring new life to me
His holy name is Jesus.
He is a friend like no other
Who is true, tested and tried
Upon Calvary’s cross
My Jesus was crucified.
But wait, it doesn’t end there
He rose again from the grave
I serve a risen Savior
Thank you Lord, I’m saved.
