I Corinthians 3:11
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
As a follower and child of Jesus we are to build our christian lives on Him. If we build on any other thing it will fail. The Bible says " ..it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try (test) every man's work of what sort it is." Jesus gave us all something to do and we are with His help, we are to do it to the best of our ability. I have often heard it said that God would not call us to do something that He will not first enable us to do it. We are to fellowship with God daily and ask what He would have us to do. All that the world offers will one day be gone and only what we have in Jesus will be left. Jesus is the foundation that I'm building on. We live in the south United States where storms and tornadoes are prevalent. I've seen homes that are built on slabs that are anchored every few feet with walls of the thickest brick get blown away and yet a few feet away see an old falling in mobile home still proudly standing tall. Both went through the same storm. What was the difference? Why the well built home and not the junker that was blown away? The answer...the will and grace of God. His ways are not our ways or His thought not our thoughts. I've heard stories on the news and seen pictures of the destruction of so many storms. I've seen where a family huddles to together in fear and right where they were was okay, but everything else around them was gone. What is your foundation made of?
