A Mother's Prayer
Now that I'm a mother
I understand my mom's crying
How she worried for her children
And how she kept on trying.
No she wasn't perfect
And she made many a mistake
But you could always count on momma
And her awesome chocolate cakes.
Moms and chocolate...how they cover
A multitude of feelings
From sibling fights and failing grades
To friends with dirty dealings.
Moms have a knack of knowing
Of when things aren't quite right,
God gave them unique senses
And supernatural might.
Moms can jump a mile high
When they hear a certain cry
To rescue their children
They often risk their lives.
In sleep mom can't be woken
By the sound that siren's make
But let her child wispher
Suddenly she's wide awake.
God gives us all so many things
Things He wants us to share
But most of all God gave to us
A gift....a mother's prayer.
I would like to say that I'm blessed with having a mom who made sure I knew about Jesus. Thank you Lord for my mom.
