Psalm 34:7
The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

Psalm 147:3
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Back several years ago, actually it seems a lifetime ago, there was a terrible pain in my life that I could not get out from under.  No matter what was tried, the mental anguish and a broken heart would not mend.  I remember going to bed one evening with a heavy heart and waking up to a gospel song in my head.  What an awesome feeling that was.  The mind is a tricky thing, it reacts with lightening speed and yet it slows to a crawl to accomodate the body's need to rest.  I've always dreamed.   And most of the time I can remember those dreams very accurately.  But the morning I awoke with that song in my head made my spirit soar.  To me it was as if God whispered in my ear while I slept.  That was so comforting.....Another time I awoke from a dream of Jesus holding me......These little things have brought so much comfort to me.  You cannot stop the world, but you can go to the one who made the world.  And if He made the world, He can protect me if He chooses.

My Jesus has protected me as long as I can remember.  I believe He gives His angels charge over us to protect us, the Bible tells us this.  And  I believe I have put my guardian angel to the test more times than I care to admit.  But thankfully the older I get the less darish I become.  This also brings to mind the scripture above talking how Jesus is close to the brokenhearted and how He binds up their wounds.  My heart like everyone else's has been broken many times.  Jesus has healed my broken heart each and every time.  Now that's not saying I didn't have my doubts a time or two, but He stood there holding me the whole time.  And sadly, most of my broken heartedness, was because of the choices I made.   I could have saved myself a whole lot of pain if I had learned to ask Him what He wanted me to do.

So next time you feel downhearted and scared:

     Just run to Jesus
     He knows everything
     Just run to Jesus
     Trust in His holy name
     Just run to Jesus
     Fall at His feet
     Just run to Jesus
    He's at the mercy seat
