1 Peter 1:6 - 8

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have to suffer grief in all kinds trials.

7 These have come so that your faith of grater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire, may  be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory, and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.

8 Though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, "for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls."

My search started out on faith.   Do you ever have moments you doubt.  Sometimes you are so dogmatic about your faith, then wham out of the blue you begin to doubt, due to someone saying something either from a pulpit or in conversation.   Through out the years I have had moments of doubt and moments of  such confirmation and firm belief.  It is crazy sometimes the roller coaster ride we allow ourselves to get on.  This year I'm making a conscientious effort to get on the merry go round (more meat in the Bible) and stop the roller coaster ride of doubt.  The scriptures I've come across this morning especially vs. 8, tells me to even though I don't see Him, He is real.  It is similar to the rides at a amusement park, you see the rides but not the mechanics that make them work.  The Bible says that we see the result of the wind, but we don't see the wind itself.  I don't see God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit but I see the results.  I'm beginning to understand that I need to get more in the Word and my faith should start growing.  The cycle of reading the Bible, believing and acting out what I read and by faith believe, reading the Bible and so forth is why I used the merry go round.  The roller coaster is like reading the Bible but going really fast with twist and turns, even though I am strapped in the seat, I lose something in the ride.   Maybe not the best comparison but ......

Lord strengthen my faith
Lord help my unbelief
Lord tell me of yourself
Lord I need relief

Lord I believe in you
Lord help me to do
Lord cleanse me of my sin
Lord,  I love you
