Romans 15:4 "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."
Life is like a winding road that never seems to end and we never know what's around the bend. Sometimes I've grown tired and weary with life's struggles and trials, but just when I seem to reach the end of the rope, I'm reminded of all that Jesus endured for me. God's word renews my strength and gives me courage to face this life and whatever it holds. We have assurance from God that He is ever with us and He won't (will not ever) leave us to face this life alone. Every time I look around and see my many blessings and read God's word, I'm glad my journey is toward my God and Savior. This life will be filled with happiness, disappointment and troubles but this world is not my home. I'm just passing through.
The hymn This World is Not My Home (J.R. Baxter, Jr.) "...I can't feel at home in this world anymore, O Lord, I know, I have no friend like you, If heaven's not my home O Lord what can I do? The angels beckon me from heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore."
There is a hymn that says it so wonderfully I'd Rather Have Jesus (Luther G. Presley) ".....I'd rather live in Heaven than than to own all earth's silver and gold, I'd rather have Jesus than the diamonds of a palace to hold, I'd rather be a beggar, live in a little shack by the road, than to own all earth's treasures with no title to a future abode."
Keep your eyes on Jesus not your troubles..smile and be happy you never know, you may be the only Bible some folks ever read.....
