Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

There has been a tragic loss of lives close to where we live. A flash flood has taken, as of tonight, a total of 18 lives. There are many more missing. Authorities aren't sure of exactly how many people they are looking for. A campground was caught in a flash flood early Friday morning. The reports are that there was no time for them to escape, even if there was a warning. The Bible tells us to be ready, for we do not know the time nor if we will ever see tomorrow. But the Bible also gives us hope in Jesus and the Cross. If we belong to Jesus or our loved ones belong to Jesus there is the knowledge that we will see each other again. God is merciful and faithful. He allows things to happen that we do not always understand, but we must accept in faith. I cannot even imagine what those families are going through, but my heart breaks for them. Let us pray unceasingly for them and the possibility of their family and friends surviving. Let's pray for the workers who are searching so diligently. And let us praise our Heavenly Father.
The Bible also tells us the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us when we don't know how or what to pray for. Let us hold fast to God, Jesus and His Holy Spirit with everything we have.
