Genesis 19:1-16

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

Life is full of decisions we all have to make. Sometimes we make wise and good choices and sometimes we make stupid and bad ones. But the bottom line...we make the choice. God's word, the Bible, tells us that we are born sinners. We come into this life knowing how to cheat, lie, steal and to rebel. John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, would not perish but have everlasting life." His word also tells us "..for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." I published a statement on face book which evoked a comment that I feel led to clarify some views.

The statement was one of an action I took to boycott Home Depot for their role in promoting homosexuality lifestyle. This was based upon information from www.onemillionmoms.com. Personally, I believe that a gay lifestyle is wrong. God says that it is an abomination unto the Lord. Billy Graham said "If God didn't judge America, He would have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah." How true these words are. Sodom and Gomorrah was evil. Lot, Abraham's nephew, lived there. God was going to destroy the city but He sent angels to get Lot and his family out of there before it happened. The people of the city wanted Lot to send the angels out so that the men could have sex with them. Lot went out to try to reason with them but they would not listen and they pressed in on Lot until the angels grabbed Lot, pulled him back into his house and shut the door. The angels smote the men that were at the door with blindness, both small and great, so that they couldn't see to find the door. The angels told Lot to get his family out of there for the Lord had sent the angels to destroy the city. Lot being human made some bad choices after he got out of the city. We are not perfect nor will we ever be. And we have a tendency to judge one more harshly than another. Truth is all sin is bad in God's sight. We are to strive to be as much like Jesus as possible. We will always sin, but we are to try not to. And when we do we are to ask God to forgive us and help us not to do those things again. This is called repentance. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah did not repent. They chose the lifestyle they were living. And in the end they were destroyed for it. God is merciful but He is also a righteous and just God.
